It was with a sad sigh that I read a review of Dead Ever After today—the last and final book in the Sookie Stackhouse Novels (due to come out this May).
There are some books which feel more like experiences than a collection of printed paper—and every one of Charlaine Harris’s novels in this series are exactly that. Reading them is like hanging out with a really good friend, whose always exciting love life just happens to include shape shifters and the undead.
It might not be considered thought provoking literature, but Sookie connects with me, and her life thrills and entertains me—something that as I writer can only hope to do for readers myself one day.
So thank you Charlaine for your wonderful series and feisty and lovable protagonist, you inspire me.
I have been kept way too busy with school that I didn’t know this book was even out just yet. It is sad that it’s the last book. Reading her books has helped me with my writing so much! I’m so glad you posted this, now I’ll have to get her book tomorrow after class.
Actually it’s not out yet, sorry for the misunderstanding–I guess I got a little too carried away dreaming of the book and wrote that out wrong. I think it’s supposed to come out in May so a few more months to wait, sadly.
