Something I learned about writing today: Don’t worry about monkey tails

George_lg

Why doesn’t George have a tail? Did he lose in a traumatic jungle event involving zebras and those plastic soda can things? Or did Hans just run out of ink?

As I reader, I often stop and  wonder about plot twists and character traits, and yes, what it or isn’t on the end of the monkey, and analyze whether it all fits together as nicely and neatly as it should. The fact is, it doesn’t always. And yet, I still keep reading the story so I guess things don’t always have to be perfect. After all, despite Curious George’s very obvious, and yet totally unexplained missing body part, he is without a doubt the most popular monkey on the planet.

  1. I will likely fall asleep in a few moments, pondering throughout the night why in years I NEVER once noticed poor George was lacking a tail. You have tormented me, with your post….
    But thank you, for sharing.
    🙂
